In nearly all cases are micro stock agencies only selling photos with a royalty free license which means you need to be careful when you submit images to micro stock agencies.

I made this short video on the importance of proper model releases when you sell royalty free images through micro stock agencies so you stay out of trouble and don’t end up as a jailbird.

How To Identify a Profitable Market For Your Microstock Photography

As promised earlier, here’s a video that shows the sneaky little tactic you can use to spy on your competition to make sure you select profitable markets with high demand and limited supply for your stock photography.

Please show your competition at least some mercy. There’s no need to clubber them to death even if you can after watching this video

If you haven’t watched the video “Market Stock Photography a.k.a “Operation Moneysuck” I suggest you watch that first (good stuff).

Summary:
- Go to iStockPhoto.com (the tactic works on other methods as well
- Deselect all categories except Photos
- Sort by downloads
- Activate downloads in advanced search menu
- Downloads = demand
- Search results = supply
- Key ratio = Demand / Supply
- Higher number means a better market in general
- The result is just an indication (but a good one), it’s not an absolute truth
